Phenol sidewalls black,
Sidewalls for racingskis. Unfortunately only this length available.
149 cm long, 6 cm wide, 4 mm thick.
From Isosport: ID SKP-SS-1
Provides material for four single sidewall strips (one pair of skis or two snoboards).
Sanded on one sides.
Is glued with the ground side.
Personal experiences:
I have no personal experience with phenol sidewalls.
Phenol sidewalls are very hard and transfer the pressure even better to the edge.
Phenol sidewalls are only available in black and are manufactured only up to a maximum thickness of 5 mm.
We use to cut the 6 cm wide strip lengthwise into four strips of 12 mm width using a circular saw bench.
Subsequently we rotate the strip 90 degrees to glue the abraded side to the waisted core.
Not till then the core will be planed.
Finally grind and singe the planed surface.
